Named by House Beautiful magazine as a "design talent to watch" and a "timeless designer" by the national blog, The Scout Guide.

Raised in Charlottesville, VA, J.P. Horton grew up with an appreciation and passion for Southern design & architecture. He completed his Art Foundation studies at Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) and finished his education at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design.

In 2017 he launched his namesake design studio in Charleston, SC after training at Charlottesville firm, Stedman House. In 2022 he relocated to his hometown of Charlottesville, VA after working for Michael S. Smith & Christine Markatos in Los Angeles, CA. Today, he is Senior Design at Maria Burke Interiors.

J.P. Horton Textiles was founded in 2019 & continues to grow, expanding into grasscloth & wallpaper in 2023.
